Why do some of the articles on Quackwatch lack references?
Quackwatch's original aim was to provide easy-to-read magazine-style articles for the general public. Although we sometimes suggested additional reading, most articles were not referenced. In mid-1997, in response to many requests, we began citing references in most of our new articles, and we have been gradually adding them to previously posted articles. On May 15, 1998, we began linking the journal citations to their MEDLINE abstracts on PubMed, which enables the rapid location of related articles.
